We were on our way back to Port Orleans Riverside from Epcot. Just after we got onto the bus at Epcot, the rain that had been threatening finally let loose and it started to pour. The bus for Port Orleans serves both French Quarter and Riverside, and it usually stops at French Quarter first.
It was still coming down in sheets when we got to the French Quarter bus stop. The door opened, and a man called out from the sidewalk to ask if the bus was going to Riverside – yes. The guy said that they had accidentally gotten off at the wrong stop. He came up the steps and into the bus and stopped for just a second and said, “It’s coming down in buckets!” He was drenched and dripping. A ripple of laughter spread through the bus at his obvious statement. But the laughter died down when….
Behind him came a very angry-looking wife and 3 kids, also very wet. They silently walked to their seats towards the back of the bus. When we arrived at our stop, they got off, too. Rick & I waited under the shelter for the rain to let up, but the wet family ran through the rain towards the lobby. We were sure that the woman was just waiting to get out of earshot of everyone before letting loose on the poor guy for making them get off at the wrong stop in the pouring rain. Poor, poor guy.
